DGR 2025 - The CCM Maverick
With the DGR just around the corner, I’m thrilled to finally unveil the machine I’ll be riding this year – the CCM Maverick.

With the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride just around the corner, I’m thrilled to finally unveil the machine I’ll be riding this year – the bold and beautiful CCM Maverick. I’m incredibly grateful to CCM Motorcycles for loaning me this stunning bike, and to Bikesure, who’ve kindly provided the insurance that makes the ride possible.
The DGR is always a special event. It brings together thousands of riders around the world, all dressing dapper and riding for a cause that really matters – raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. This year, it’s even more meaningful for me personally, and I couldn’t ask for a more fitting bike to join the ride on than the Maverick.
Meet the Maverick
The CCM Maverick is a Scrambler with proper presence – a head-turner that fuses classic style with modern capability. It’s designed to handle life both on the tarmac and off the beaten track, offering a versatile ride without compromising on personality. From its upright stance and knobbly tyres to its twin high pipes and raw metalwork, it oozes attitude while remaining totally rideable.

Under the tank, the Maverick runs a 600cc single-cylinder engine, delivering 55bhp and 50nm of torque. But numbers alone don’t tell the story – at just 150kg, it’s light, nimble, and surprisingly punchy. Whether threading through city streets or taking the long way home through the Peaks, it feels sharp and alive beneath you. And that soundtrack – the deep, rasping note from the twin pipes – is pure grin fuel.
It’s a bike that doesn’t need gimmicks. There’s no rider mode, no TFT screen – just you, the machine, and the road. It’s stripped back, in the best way, and built by hand in Bolton with the same spirit Alan Clews instilled in the brand from the beginning.
Style Meets Substance
There’s something genuinely special about riding a bike that’s been handcrafted, not mass-produced. The Maverick is part of CCM’s Spitfire range – known for their individuality, their premium feel, and that unmistakable mix of heritage and innovation. Starting from £12,595, it’s not just a bike – it’s a piece of British engineering art, tailored for riders who want something a bit different.

For the DGR, the Maverick feels like the perfect match. Stylish, stripped back, a little rebellious – and a joy to ride.
What’s Next
Over the next few days, I’ll be putting the Maverick through its paces, capturing photos, filming content, and of course, riding it during The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride on Sunday 18 May. If you’re following along, expect everything from solo ride footage to behind-the-scenes clips, as I prepare, ride, and reflect on this year’s experience.
If you’re able to, please consider supporting my ride with a donation. Every contribution helps fund vital work in men’s health, and every share helps raise awareness. You’ll find the link to my DGR profile across my socials.
Thanks again to CCM Motorcycles for trusting me with the Maverick, and to Bikesure for making the ride possible. I’ll be sharing more soon – and trust me, this bike deserves the spotlight.
